Bellerose is a village in Nassau County, New York. It is located on the Queens-Nassau border in the town of North Hempstead. Across the county line, in Queens, is a neighborhood also named Bellerose. Bellerose was built and incorporated in 1924 by Helen Marsh. Her daughter was Rose and “belle” means beautiful in French. , the village population was approximately 1,200.
