East Williston, New York
East Williston is a small village in Nassau County, New York. It has a total area of 0.57 square miles. , the village population was approximately 2,600. East Williston is mostly an upper-middle class residential community. It is located around twenty-five miles east of Midtown Manhattan. The village is bordered by Roslyn Heights on the north, Old Westbury on the east, Mineola on the south, and Garden City Park on the west.
East Williston was incorporated in 1926. The village was originally called “The North Side” before being renamed “Williston” due to families with the name “Willis” residing in the area. It was then renamed to East Williston to differentiate it from another “Williston”. The other Williston is a hamlet in the Town of Marilla in Erie County.
