Great Neck is a region and village in Long Island, New York. The region consists of a peninsula on the northern shore of Nassau County and encompasses nine villages. One of the villages is also named Great Neck. The village is located in the central part of the peninsula and has a total area of 1.35 square miles. , its population was approximately 10,800. Great Neck Village is sometimes referred to as “the old village” to distinguish itself from other nearby areas with “Great Neck” in their name. The village was incorporated in 1922.
