Lynbrook is a village in Nassau County, New York. It is located on the South Shore of Long Island, approximately five miles east of the Queens County line. Lynbrook is between the village of Valley Stream to the west and Rockville Centre to the east., the village population was estimated at 20,200.
The village had several prior names, including Rechquaakie, Parson's Corners, and Bloomfield. In 1894, the village finally took the name of Lynbrook, and was incorporated in 1911. The name "Lynbrook" is derived from "Brooklyn". The popular Sitcom, Everybody Loves Raymond, was set in Lynbrook.
